ADMISSION - UNDERGRADUATE

The college admission is 100 per year, and since the college is affiliated to the State owned The TN Dr MGR Medical university, 65 seats are admitted by the Government Merit list through centralized counselling and the remaining 35 seats are also admitted through Government counselling for the management quota. The fee structure of both the Government quota and Management quota is fixed by the fee fixation committee appointed by the Government of Tamilnadu, which changes yearly.

Students who have passed the NEET qualifying examination and have passed 12th Board examinations only are eligible to apply for the BDS course. 50% is the eligibility for all students except for SC and ST students 40 % is the eligibility criteria. Qualified NEET students, who have passed their 12th Board examinations, have to apply to the Tamil Nadu State Government -Medical Education Department for centralized counselling, both for the government quota and management quota. The State Government prepares a merit list according to the NEET qualifying marks and calls the students for counselling for both the state government quota and management quota.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University stipulates the following Eligibility criteria for admission to the BDS course: Candidates with 50% marks on aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany/Zoology) and English at the qualifying examination at the end of 12 years of study for all categories except for scheduled caste and tribe who are eligible with 40% aggregate. Graduate students should have one of the following subjects as major viz. Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology or should have passed the earlier qualifying examination with the above subjects. Students who have studied abroad, the equivalency of qualification as determined by the Association of Indian Universities and should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English upto 12th standard with 50% marks. Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or complete the age on or before 31st December of the years of admission to the first year BDS course. The students who want to join BDS should appear for the NEET examinations and should have qualified in that.
